Updates: Staff, girl search, building..etc. 11.2.19

Hey Friends!,

We’re almost a month in of being in the village and a LOT has happened. If you’re following Reshma’s Home social media, you’re semi up to date but I wanted to share some timeline information, staffing, etc.

  1. MY TEAM //
I want to shoutout my awesome team for making the time, spending the money, and serving so diligently while they were with me. You can see some of the fun we had in the pictures posted below. We painted the main dinning hall, the girls bedrooms, the library, the office and the girls living room. Due to the time at hand, we had to stop there so I will not be sharing the rooms finished paint job until the building is complete. Since my team couldn’t finish he interior paint job, they pitched in some money to hire of two Bengali men to finish the job. If the weather permits, it will be complete on the inside this week!

    • We still need donors for the exterior paint of the building. if it were up to me, i’d keep it white but I know the girls who come will LOVE color. Pinks, purples, blues, greens. Alllll the colors :)

  1. LEGAL //
The two weeks before the team got here was spent with legal teams, lots of paperwork, and a LOT of shopping as I posted before. Thankfully, those types of things are coming to an end (for now) and the focus has been on the villages around me. We’ve done kids camps, youth camps, and adult training for new churches and church plans around us. How does this help RH? I get to be an advocate for these girls who are thought of as “outsiders and outcast”. There has been some push back because of the “type” of girls I am going after. Lift this concern up. I know our Guy is bigger than their concern.

  2. STAFF //
Well, this has been nothing short of amazing and I have found the PERFECT lady to oversee everything as far as accounting, business administration, management, etc. She is a trusted friend, mother, and local. She has 21 years of experience, and I couldn’t trust anyone more. Two ladies were hired from a village about 3 hours away. Both of them are widows with children who are in school, so they will be here at the end of November.

  3. OUR GIRLS //
Since the cooks and staff will not be on staff until the end of November, I will be searching the areas for the girls and giving them a move in time of end of November / First of December. This is going to require the most time and work. Lift us up as we take a path most of us have never taken. Once I get the girls, I will take them to get enrolled in school (starts in January), buy supplies, and all their clothing / household needs. Many of you have asked to sponsor a girl, the time is NOW. Please click the “Sponsor a Child” button to start monthly subscription of donation. I asked that you commit to this $100 a month for at least 12 months. Consider a trip to come visit them, and certainly write letters and send gifts with people who come. I know this will bring them SO much joy.

More updates coming soon. Thanks for remembering us!
